Welcome to Women’s Wellness Wednesday's with Melissa, brought to you by Northwest Medical Center.
This month we are talking about heart disease, high blood pressure, and the contributing factors. Dr. Greg Koshkarian, why should women be worried about high blood pressure?
Dr. Greg Koshkarian - People who come in and their 160 over 100, their risk is not that they are going to have a stroke at that moment, their risk is if that is not treated and they have that for a long period of time. So life styles things, would include again weight control, because fat tissue sends off signals that actually make the blood pressure go up. So sometimes weight loss by itself can bring blood pressure under control, cutting down on salt, but beyond that, some people need medicine and some people need multiple medicines.
Thank you so much! For more info call 797-8550 or visit desertcardiology.com.
