Welcome to Women’s Wellness Wednesday's with Melissa, brought to you by Northwest Medical Center.
This month we are talking about heart disease, high blood pressure, and the contributing factors. Dr. Greg Koshkarian, why should women be worried about high blood pressure?
Well, high blood pressure is interesting. I find in my practice people take two extreme positions about high blood pressure; on the one hand, they donít worry about it, they say Iíve always had it, I donít have any symptoms from it, so Iím not worrying about it, and thatís not the right attitude. The other is my blood pressure is high today am I going to have a stroke today, and the truth is somewhere in between, high blood pressure is generally not acutely dangerous. I mean there are obviously people that come in with really high blood pressures but really high to a cardiologist is like 230 over 120,130.
