Welcome to Women’s Wellness Wednesday's with Melissa, brought to you by Northwest Medical Center.
All this month were talking about heart disease and its contributing factors. Dr. Greg Koshkarian, we all know cholesterol is tied to heart attack risk, can you explain cholesterol numbers?
So cholesterol has evolved from, the beginning when all we looked at was the total cholesterol and as you mentioned there's lots of different components now. It would be a whole lecture, and I give lectures on cholesterol to talk about all the numbers, but probably the most important one to focus on is the LDL cholesterol and that's stereotypical "bad cholesterol." I'm going to give you a few numbers, but I will say that in general there's no exact cut off to say well this numbers safe and this level is not safe.
Thank you so much! For more info call 797-8550 or visit desertcardiology.com.
