Network at Tucson Medical Center to continue to help children of Southern Arizona!
Over the years our station has had an on-going commitment to giving back to the community
that has supported us so strongly. We are excited to have the opportunity to help
Southern Arizona build brighter tomorrows for TUCSON’S KIDS! Throughout the year,
Jennie and Chris will host special events, interviews and updates on what’s happening
with Children’s Miracle Network and TMC. Check back here often to find out what’s
coming up next!
A Campaign for the New Children’s Medical Center!
To meet the community’s needs for additional pediatrics services, Tucson Medical
Center and the TMC Foundation are launching a capital campaign – with the theme “Block
by Block, Miracles Happen” – to expand the current Pediatric Unit to a 44 private
bed unit with 16,000 square feet of new space and renovation of the 12,500 square
feet of existing space.
The resulting new general pediatric floor will feature private rooms throughout,
except during periods of unusually high patient volume. The Pediatric Intensive Care
Unit, which has 12 beds and was renovated in 2003, is not part of this project, but
will be adjacent and connected to the new general pediatric
floor.
Campaign Highlights
*44 private pediatric rooms.
*Provide more space for families, in community rooms and at the patient bedside;
enhance play area.
*Create a special area for adolescents.
*Create a central entrance for pediatrics services.
*Enhance coordination of pediatrics services.

*Expand the pediatrics facilities with 16,000 square feet of new space and 12,500

with the new electronic medical record system and other ongoing enhancements at the
hospital, TMC will be able to continue providing The Most Care to new generations
throughout Southern Arizona.
