OK... You may not want to see this...
It's time to put our daily trips to Starbucks, the vending machine, and Subway into perspective . . . horrifying, horrifying perspective!:-(
According to a new survey, the average worker spends $11.84 every day on coffee, lunch, and snacks.
That multiplies out to $2,782.40 a year, assuming three weeks of vacation and sick time, and 10 days off for holidays.
Over the course of a 47-year career, that multiplies out to $130,772.80 on coffee, lunch, and snacks!
Meaning that if you have an average salary of $65,000-a-year in your career, you blow TWO FULL YEARS of salary on eating at work.
So how would that change if you brought lunch from home every day, drank free coffee, and only bought snacks occasionally? The survey found you'd spend an average of $2.27 a day, meaning you'd save $9.57 a day.
You'd spend $533.45 a year on your food . . . or $25,072.15 across a 47-year career. That's a savings of more than $105,000.
