That headline makes me laugh but this makes a LOT of sense!
A new study of almost 20,000 married couples by the Norwegian Institute of Public Health found that couples who drink similar amounts are usually less likely to get divorced than couples where one person is a heavier drinker than the other!
Some stats:
Couples with a man who's a big drinker and a woman who's not had a 13.1% divorce rate.
Couples with a woman who's a big drinker and a man who's not had DOUBLE that divorce rate, 26.8%.
Couples where BOTH people booze hard had a divorce rate of 17.2%. So that's just a little higher than couples with a heavy male drinker, and way below couples with a heavy female drinker.
Couples where NEITHER person drinks heavily had a divorce rate of only 5.8%.
